Start off the day with a hearty, delicious breakfast. Many spas offer this service in the morning. Make pancakes or French toast, or take the healthy route and slice up fresh strawberries in yogurt. You may even want to pour yourself a mimosa, which combines Champagne with orange juice. Keep wine available throughout the day and snack on fresh almonds or pieces of dark chocolate.
2
Designate one room for the spa. Clear the room of any distractions and work-related items. Create soft lighting by drawing the shades, turning down the lights and lighting candles. Play relaxing music on a CD and light scented candles to create the perfect spa atmosphere.
3
Apply a clay facial mask to cleansed skin. As the mask is setting, place cucumber slices over your eyes, which will soothe the skin and reduce any swelling.
4
Recline in a massage chair or run a hand-held massager over your neck, shoulders, arms and legs. If you're having a spa day with friends, take turns giving each other either upper body or full massages.
5
Draw a warm bath and add bubbles and bath salts. Light candles in the bathroom and sip Champagne or wine as you soak. After the bath, pull on a thick robe and slippers.
6
Manicure your nails and give yourself a pedicure as well. It's best to do this after a bath, since your nails will already be soaked. Rub nail oil onto your nails and cuticles, push back cuticles using a wooden manicure stick, wash hands free of residue and paint on your favorite nail enamel.
The spa day doesn't have to end once the spa treatments do. You can wind down the day by reading, watching your favorite movie or ordering food. Spa days typically include may indulgences, not just spa treatments.
